A data network is a telecommunications network that allows computing devices to exchange data. The connections between networked computing devices are established using either cable media or wireless media. Computer networks support applications such as access to the World Wide Web, shared use of application and storage servers, printers, and fax machines, and use of email and instant messaging applications. This course looks at the basics of data communications and networking and provides a clear and straightforward understanding of many of the components and operation of data networks.
