Fiber optic cables are found in just about every area modern communication networks. We find them in long distance transport networks and in FTTX access systems, and even in alarm and industrial process control systems. It is very important that people who work directly with these systems or who work around them have a good working knowledge of the dangers they pose and the necessary precautions that need to be taken. The course will introduce the participants to both the dangers and the practical precautions that can be taken to prevent injury when working with optical fiber materials and laser light sources.
